The collard plants are majestic in the morning light!

Good Morning Everyone,

Wow, has it ever been a beautiful summer so far!  This is the time of year for Greek salads and grilled summer squash… and don’t forget about the beans. Ohhh those beans! Here, at One Love Farm, we are growing some tasty varieties that lend themselves well to creating a colourful bean salad medley. We have yellow beans, purple beans, purple with yellow stripe beans called Dragon’s Tongue and yes, we do grow two  types of green beans. And, if you just don’t want bean season to end, stock up for pickling or fermenting to ejnjoy this summer vegetable all year long!    Remember that, when cooked, the purple beans turn green.

Here’s a little song my childhood friend , Jason, and I used to sing:  “Beans, beans, great for the heart! The more you eat, the more you like’em”
