Amanda’s dewy morning view of kale with headlamp.

Good Morning Everyone!

With the dwindling daylight, harvesting early morning greens for the market is beginning to feel like a spelunking expedition. Special thanks to Amanda, one of our  helpers on the farm, for her dedication to the early morning harvest. Without the blink of an eye, she is ready to don her headlamp and sport her trusty scissors to cut through the  fog to harvest from the looming kale patch. Plant upon plant towers in the glistening darkness, yet Amanda never wavers from the task. She knows not to fear the kale as she skillfully trims off the leaves which are still crisp from the cool morning temperature. She truly is one of our unsung heroes!

Some of our specialty pumpkins

As well as greens, we have lots of beautiful edible squash available. This weeks feature is RedKuri. It’s smooth, mild flesh makes it ideal for sauces and soups. Also, we do have carving pumpkins available from our mini-patch at the farm stand.

Also available at our farm stand on Tuesday and Friday 3pm to 7pm and the Abbotsford Farm and Country Market on Saturdays 9am to 1pm:

Unpasteurized honey

Red Russian Garlic

Collard Greens

Winter squash

Cherry Tomatoes

Thank-you and see you there!
